My Mom the Master Gardener

My mom has been writing an article each week for her local newspaper highlighting some of the members of her local master gardener association.  The final article was to be written about her by one of the other gardeners, but my oh-so-introverted father asked if he could write the article instead.  It ran in yesterday’s paper and I really enjoyed reading it.  How refreshing that there are still those couples that are still so in love after 39 years of marriage.  I am so proud of my dad for taking the initiative to do something so special.  He did a fantastic job, including funny stories and tidbits about her.  So thank you mom and dad for being a shining example of a true partnership in crime marriage.

I think Habitual Rearranger fits me well because I am never settled on designs, colors, or placement of items in our home. I drive Bradley crazy sometimes, but I keep figuring out new and better ways of doing things! I am not striving to be profound or an expert on anything in this blog. It is simply a way to keep a record of all of my adventures - home and life - for me to reference and also for my loved ones to follow along. I am a born and raised Georgia girl. I don't think I would enjoy living anywhere except the south. Bradley and I spent six and a half years in our starter home and are now in our forever home, a 1970s traditional two story brick house. I love getting into all kinds of projects around our house, and I try to document all the dirty details here if for no one else than for me.

  1. Aww… sweet story. And I love the name Willow Mae….why don’t people name their children fun names like that and Fern and so forth???

  2. :)Suz, what’s more fun is the way it gets slurred together in the south and actually sounds like ‘willamae’. She was named after a maid her family had from my understanding (the Willow part). I’ve often thought about how it would be to use the name Willow if we ever decided to have a kid.
